John Torres is an American songwriter and recording artist from Los Angeles, California. His music has been featured shows like TLC’s “My Giant Life”, MTV's "The Real World: From D.C., with Love," "Alias," "Felicity" and many other popular television shows and movies.
His writing has received numerous honors including a John Lennon Songwriting Award, and a nomination by the American Independent Music Awards. His collaboration on the song “You Don’t Have To Be A Star” for the documentary “Fame High” was shortlisted for an Academy Award.
John’s music draws influences from a wide variety of different genres including Folk, Pop, and even Opera. His music catalogue includes four official studio albums including numerous singles and music videos. He’s a founding member of the indie folk band, Towers of Temple City.
Most recently Torres co-composed the music and lyrics to the now popular musical theater adaptation of the 1980 Warner Bros film “Bronco Billy", which Broadway World says is “bound to be on this years best of list…non-stop musical magic!”
