6.20.17 – New Music and Launch of Towers of Temple City!

Watch the video below for the short version of the message to follow. 🙂

Hello Everyone,

It has been quite a long time since I’ve sent an update. I’ve had lots of questions about when I’ll be playing again, as well as when I’ll be releasing new music.

As far as playing concerts again, I’m trying to put together some shows in the near future, and I promise I will keep you posted.

In terms of new music, it’s truly coming out of my ears. The end of 2013 was the last time I officially released anything. But the last four years I’ve been writing nonstop.

I completed work on a new John Torres album, with more of an adult contemporary twist. We have not yet determined a release date for that project, but I’ll keep you posted, and hopefully be able to share a teaser soon enough.

In the meantime, I wanted to announce the launching of a new side project I am very passionate about called “Towers of Temple City”.

About a year ago, myself and Tim Kobza began writing songs in a slightly different vein from my usual stuff. In collaboration with Will Collyer, and a few other truly talented instrumentalist, ToTC was born.

The game plan with this project is to release one song every month or so as opposed to one album every couple of years!

That being said, today we are releasing The first song, entitled “Boy.” It’s a song I wrote about my now three-year-old son Jackson.

We sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed creating it!

In terms of promotion, my goal is not to use this email list to promote Towers of Temple City, but to respect this list as reserved for “John Torres” related announcements only.

So if you’re interested in learning more about the project, as well as receiving links to new music releases, videos, tour dates etc, please click on the link below to join the mailing list for Towers of Temple City.

In the meantime, please enjoy this song. Feel free to share it with everyone you know. It will be available as of today on iTunes, Spotify, and our store on Bandcamp.com

Excited to hear your feedback!
